Dear Meryl,

I am so saddened by the news of the death of Peter. I am thinking of you all the time and wish you strength in dealing

with your loss.

My memories of Peter and Bruce are of a time when life was an enormous adventure for me. I looked up to your sons

almost as older brothers, men who were strong and fearless, who could do just about anything and what they couldn’t do

they would give it a good bash anyway! With their hunting and fishing and love of the great outdoors, they just seemed to

live life to the full and, as a young boy, I admired them greatly and looked up to them.

I am so fortunate to have been a ‘part of the Helme/Parker family’ and I recognize that part of my life as having an

enormous impact on my personality and my values. You all gave me so much and Peter was no small part of that.

When I think of Peter, I will always see a strong, proud man because that is the person I knew, whatever challenges he

was to be faced with in later life.
